Difficult documents(*) can be "understood" with ease.

Scire est scindere (to know is to separate (color))

The same word becomes the same color.

Tap a word only (no keyboard required).

(*) textbooks, papers, foreign language, etc.
(*) The more difficult the text is, the more effective it is (next slide)

To know is to separate(color) (1)

In difficult sentences, the same word appears many times.
This is because similar concepts are separated using adjectives.

Example: Bond   - Covalent Bond
           - Ionic Bond
           - Metal Bond

By separating the bonds from the others,
the difference between "Covalent", "Ionic", and "Metal" becomes easier to understand.

To know is to separate(color) (2)

It is also useful to separate among "adjectives."

Example:    Bond - Covalent Bond
                               Ionic Bond
          Metal Bond

To know is to separate(color) (3)

When you separate "numbers",  your perspective expand "two-dimensionally".

Plutonium-239, plutonium-241, and several other isotopes exist. Plutonium-239 has a half-life of about 24,000 years (by alpha decay). It has a specific gravity of 19.8, a melting point of 639.5 °C, and a boiling point of 3230 °C.
Uranium-238 captures neutrons to form uranium-239, which beta-decays to neptunium-239, which then beta-decays to plutonium-239. Since uranium-238 is naturally occurring, neptunium-239 and plutonium-239 are also naturally occurring, although in very small amounts. Plutonium-244, which has the longest half-life of any plutonium isotope at about 80 million years, also occurs naturally in extremely small amounts. Inhalation of plutonium-239, plutonium-240, and their radioactive decay products and droplets has been recommended as "carcinogenic" (Type 1).

Reduce number of unknowns (1)

Fill in the 21 holes below.

New York, often called New York City to distinguish it from the State of New York, is the most populous city in the United States. New York City is also the most densely populated major city in the United States. Located at the southern tip of the state of New York, the city is the center of the New York metropolitan area, the largest metropolitan area in the world by urban area.

Reduce number of unknowns (2)

Fill in the holes below. The same color is the same word.
Unknowns are reduced from 21 to 4

Improving associative chances to unknown words

Highlighting unknown words improves the chance of association.
This is quite effective when learning something new, such as foreign language.

Answers:  United States = United States, State of New York = state of New York,   New York City  = New York City
